About me

I’m a qualified counsellor, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), Drawing and Talking and ARTiculate practitioner working with adults, young adults, children and couples in Jersey, Channel Islands.

I won’t tell you what to do as you know yourself best (although it may not feel like this at times!). Instead, my role will be to support you as best I can, to help you find your own answers. Together we can talk and explore, look at your past, or at patterns of behaviour or thinking.

Hopefully, I can help you express your feelings and emotions and help you consider your options and any decisions you need to make, in order to help you manage your problems and moving forward, feeling differently about things.

I mainly work from a Person-Centred approach but will use other therapies and various tools and techniques as needed to best suit you. Person-Centred work is based on the work of psychologist Carl Rogers – he believed that everyone naturally has the potential to be all they want to be. Often though, we can lose sense of our true self, deep within, and sometimes need a bit of support and guidance to get back in touch with this.

I deliver therapeutic programmes and counselling for Silkworth Charity Group to help children and young adults affected by addiction and young adults in recovery.

I’m also a Samaritan volunteer, as well as a volunteer counsellor for the Community Bereavement Service and Macmillan Jersey and a mediator with many years’ experience offering emotional support to people from all sorts of backgrounds and with all kinds of worries and problems.

I’m trained as a practitioner in disordered eating and hold an externship in Emotionally Focussed Couple Therapy. I can also offer Sandplay and Drawing and Talking sessions which are safe and effective ways for people of all ages to heal emotional pain.

When counselling, I’ll put you first.  Your confidentiality and sense of safety are very important. As an accredited registrant member of the National Counselling Society and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work according to their ethical code of practice.
